Congratulations and my most sincere thanks to the over 500 citizen volunteers from the
Church of the Open Door, Main Street Elyria, Lorain County Solid Waste, Invest
Elyria, the Mayor’s Office on Volunteer Engagement and others who took personal
responsibility to sweep streets, wash windows, haul trash, and plant
flowers. When I walked into Elyria City
Hall this morning all I could do is smile as I passed the beautiful purple,
pink and yellow petunias adorning the planters around the square and on Broad
Street. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
Current
Street Closings
Eastern
Heights Blvd. (between Sherman and Park Avenue) is closed
today (Monday) for emergency sewer repairs - the road will be opened temporarily late today and reclosed Tuesday for concrete
repairs. All work should be completed (weather dependent) by 5/22 and detours
removed.
St.
Clair Street remains closed to through traffic (from
Hamilton to Ohio) due to the Cascade syphon project. This work will be
completed by the end of summer. Although local traffic is maintained, we are
asking that drivers avoid the area if possible.
