Monday, January 21st, 2019 marks the 33rd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service in the City of Elyria. There are many great events planned, but the main event will be on Monday, starting with a commemorative walk:
Monday, January 21, 2019—MAIN EVENTS:
Commemorative Walk from Ely Square to Elyria High School - 10:30 a.m. 33rd Annual Elyria Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community-Wide Celebration entitled “The Rhythm of the Dream in a New Generation” at 11:00 a.m. – Elyria High School Performing Arts Center, 600 West Avenue, Elyria. Main program to feature Elyria High School Orchestra, band and choir performing a full orchestra piece with narration set to Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. The EHS Orchestra is under the direction of Dr. David Pope, the EHS Band is under direction of Aaron Putka and the EHS Choir is under the direction of Kalee Bondzio. Come celebrate Dr. King’s 90th Birthday. The King Holiday Community Education & Information Fair is 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. EHS Performing Arts Center Lobby.
