New Elyria Retailer Seeking Employees!





Johnny K's Motorsports, opening SOON at Midway Mall, is looking to hire staff at their new facility in Elyria.  They will hold a job fair at the Hampton Inn and Suite in front of the mall on Thursday, April 26th, 2018 from 11am - 6pm.  They are hiring for a variety of positions, and everyone interested is encourage to visit them on the 26th!

Positions Available for Elyria Works Now - Deadline: April 20, 2018

Elyria Mayor Holly C. Brinda and the City of Elyria are working with leaders from within our community to create Elyria Works Now, and as part of that initiative there are currently five contract positions available, but the deadline to apply is coming up soon: Friday, April 20, 2018.

Elyria Works Now is a new collaboration of Elyria, Ohio based partners of industry, education, government, non-profit, for-profit, and faith-based stakeholders that are banding together to provide Elyrians better access to higher paying jobs in target industries.  Elyria Works Now (EWN) provides participants with connectivity, support, education, training and access to employers who have committed to hiring goals, “screen in” and family-friendly policies, and working with community partners to remove barriers to employment and provide integrated wrap-around services that respond to Individualized Development and Career Plans.

Video - City of Elyria Easter Egg Hunt 2018



A group of energetic Elyrian children and their families joined the City of Elyria Parks and Recreation Department at North Rec Ice Arena on Saturday, March 31, 2018 for the Annual City of Elyria Easter Egg Hunt. Fun was apparently had by all, watch the video to join in!

Spotlight Elyria Video - Spring 2018

   

Mayor Holly Brinda and her staff held a community conmversation at Northwood Junior High School on Thursday, March 22nd, 2018 to provide vital updates on projects and happenings within the City of Elyria, as well as meet with and answer questions from Elyria residents. Prior to the meeting, Mayor Brinda was interviewed by the Chronicle Telegram's Brad Dicken and Lisa Roberson.

Elyria Arts Council News!


Upcoming Events at the Elyria Arts Council - 336 Broad Street - Downtown

Longtime Local Artists David Pavlak and Megan Rowe will  host a joint retrospective of their lives in Art. The exhibition is called "100 Years of Art" and will cover both artist's growth and development with works from all stages of their careers. Join us for the Opening Night Gala on Saturday April 21st at the Elyria Arts Council at 336 Broad Street from 6 pm to 9 pm, a night of food, fellowship, and wonderful Art.

Fundraisers

The Elyria Arts Council is holding a Soup & Salad Bar Lunch Fundraiser on April 27th from 11 am to 1:30 pm. Enjoy a salad, a cup of homemade soup, bread, and dessert. Pre-event tickets are $8 per person, $9 at the door. All  proceeds go to purchase a kiln and supplies for the Potter's Guild and the Kid's Art Drop-In and Pottery classes. Tickets available at the Elyria Arts Council at 336 Broad Street Thursday, friday, and Saturday from 11:00 am to 4;00pm or call 440-328-3025. Tale out orders please 24 hours in advance.

Ongoing Events

Stop in and visit the Community Bookshelf. In order to promote reading skills and literacy for all ages, the Community Bookshelf is a free service provide by the Book Wizard at the Elyria Arts Council. Stop in and take a book. You can keep it, pass it on, or bring something else back to take its place. Reading is power and The Elyria Arts Council is dedicated to building a powerful and thriving community through the Arts.
