CITY OF ELYRIA TO HOST FEDERAL PRESS CONFERENCE
ON AFFORDABLE CARE ACT INSURANCE ENROLLMENT
Federal Health and Human Services Region V Director
Kathleen Falk will visit Elyria, Ohio on Friday March 14th at 1:00pm
at Elyria City Hall - 131 Court Street,
Suite 301 to hold a press conference to
promote insurance enrollment under the provisions of the Patient Protection
& Affordable Care Act. Falk will be
joined by Elyria Mayor Holly Brinda and healthcare professionals from around
Lorain County in an effort to maximize enrollment.
New national and state enrollment data will also be
released, using the City of Elyria as a backdrop to describe insurance
enrollment opportunities and challenges for the uninsured and under-insured
around the United States.
“We are very pleased that the City of Elyria was chosen
as the site in Northeast Ohio to help tell this extraordinary story of
opportunity for so many individuals that otherwise would not have access to
affordable, high quality healthcare,” said Mayor Holly Brinda.
Katheen Falk was appointed to her position in 2013 and
brings many years of experience and service as a government leader in the State
of Wisconsin, serving previously as County Executive in Dane County, Assistant
Attorney General in the Wisconsin Department of Justice, and Co-Director of a non-profit organization
called Wisconsin’s Environmental Decade.
A native of Wisconsin, Ms. Falk earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Stanford
University and her Law Degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
