After a thrilling Wednesday night that resulted in a gold medal for Elyria-native Tianna Bartoletta in the Women's Long Jump, there was more excitement this morning during the qualifying rounds of the Women's 4x100m relay. Tianna brilliantly ran the first leg of the relay, but later in the race one of her teammates was bumped during a handoff and dropped the baton. The team successfully filed an appeal and will race their qualifying round tonight around 7:00pm. They will be alone on the track and need to post a time of 42.70 or better to advance into the finals, so they will need all of our support and well-wishes.
