Brinda joined Raj Chandat and company on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 for the
groundbreaking of a new Courtyard by
Marriott Hotel slated to begin construction in early 2016 for a completion
date prior to the Republican National Convention. The hotel, to be built between Mr. Chandat’s
existing Hampton Inn and Atlas Cinemas, will be the newest addition to what
promises to be several new businesses and improvements to the Midway Mall area
corridor.
The $22
million reconfiguration of State Route 57 and the 49th Street Bridge
area will be complete in the spring of 2016.
Removal of the bridge, widening of the highway, and the flattening of
the intersection is eliminating a high crash zone, improving access to the
Midway Mall area, and opening up about 140 acres of undeveloped property –
which the City will begin marketing in the spring of 2016.
