Mayor Brinda and her staff cordially invite you to attend a
public presentation regarding the Middle
Avenue Reconstruction Project during MAYOR’S NIGHT IN on Thursday evening April 3 from 6:00 – 7:00pm at Elyria City
Hall second floor City Council Chambers – 131 Court Street. Scheduled to begin this fall and completed
in the summer of 2015, this federally, state and city funded project will be a
major improvement to the downtown area and the southern entrance to the
City.
Come learn about how the project is designed to improve the
functionality, safety and appearance of Middle Avenue between Broad Street and
Oberlin Road. The modern Complete Street
concept is being used that encourages and supports different types of
transportation including vehicles, pedestrians and bicycles. In addition, the road will be resurfaced with
asphalt pavement, new sidewalk curb ramps will be constructed applying ADA
standards, and the boulevard will be reconstructed removing and replacing
street lighting, pavement markings, bike lanes and constructing enhanced
crosswalks.
The city’s project partners will also be present from the
Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Northeast Ohio Area
Coordinating Agency (NOACA) to answer questions at the meeting. Please join us. If you have questions about this project and
cannot attend the session, please contact City Engineer Tim Ujvari or Kathy
McKillips at 326-1444.
