FLOOD DEBRIS? THERE IS HELP….

 From Elyria Mayor Brinda…
Have flood debris?  The City of Elyria and Lorain County can help in THREE WAYS at no cost to you.  First, you can place flood-damaged carpet, furniture, drywall and other non-hazardous materials on your tree lawn.  The Elyria Sanitation Department is making regular rounds over the next two weeks to collect the debris.

Second, for those flood-damaged items you don’t want sitting on your tree lawn, you can take and deposit those items in a dumpster at any one of four Elyria Parks and Recreation Centers: North, South, East or West.  Please compact the material as much as possible.  And remember, NO hazardous materials are to go in the dumpsters; items like batteries, aerosol and paint cans, computers and audio-equipment, fluorescent lamps and other toxic items should be taken to Lorain County Solid Waste Management at 540 South Abbe Road.
Lastly, if you have large items like furniture or refrigerators that you need assistance with moving, you may call the Mayor’s Office at 326-1402.  Volunteers are being coordinated through Lorain County Emergency Management Services to provide moving assistance on a limited basis.  If you have questions, please feel free to call the Mayor’s Office at 326-1402.
