SR 57 Corridor Project
Update on work for the week of June 30

ELYRIA (Friday, June 27, 2014) – The Ohio Department of Transportation District 3 provides the following update on the State Route 57 corridor improvement project in the City of Elyria:

Midway Mall Boulevard/Tillotson Street – Temporary pavement will be installed on the north side of the intersection, both east and west of Tillotson Street. Traffic will be maintained through the intersection at all times.

·        On Wednesday, July 2, the work zone will be installed on the south half of the intersection, including the entrance to Midway Mall. One lane of traffic will be maintained on Midway Mall Boulevard in each direction.

·        Beginning Wednesday, July 2, there will be no access to the Midway Mall entrance at Tillotson Street. Midway Mall customers will have access from the entrance east of Tillotson Street or through Travelers Lane, west of Red Lobster. This will remain in place through late August.

Leona Street/Midway Mall Boulevard – A work zone remains in place at the northeast quadrant of the intersection. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times through the intersection.

State Route 57 – Traffic on SR 57, between the Midway Mall Boulevard and the Ohio Turnpike, will be shifted temporarily on to the shoulders as the contractor installs a work zone. Only one lane of traffic will be maintained on SR 57 north and southbound from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2. Once this work is complete, SR 57 traffic will be divided with a concrete barrier wall and two lanes of traffic will remain in place both north and southbound.
